Through a Qualified Recycling Program, the DoD has
agreements with vendors to purchase pallets, wood
scraps and metals. The vendors ground pallets, chip
them and reuse them for mulch. This process recog-
nizes the military's commitment to reduce waste by
diverting these items from landfills.
