The survey indicated that members needed continued delivery of current information, access to legislated financial programs available for businesses, and federal and state level information on requirements and best practices that needed to be met. From the poll's responses, members feel NWPCA has responded well. "I am very impressed with the association and its lightning quick response to the critical infrastructure issue," says one survey respondent. "The collective need of the wood packaging sector has, and is, constantly changing," notes Brent McClendon, NWPCA President and CEO. "Now, the concerns relate to on-site operations and assuring safe work environments for employees. NWPCA's website is frequently consulted for the latest federal, state, and international guidance to assist in developing independent company policies and plans." From most indications, pallet companies are doing business as usual within the crisis guidelines of COVID-19. To help them continue in this effort, the association will continue to monitor the situation and poll members on how to best support their needs. "I'm proud of the industry we are in," Wenner concludes, "and this situation just reinforces the NWPCA's mantra 'Pallets Move The World.' We have an important role in the world's economy and we are very thankful for that opportunity. While there's plenty of negativity out there and reasons to be down, don't forget to count your blessings and stay positive."
