NWPCA Webinar on
Fire Code Compliance,
Next Level Information
O
n May 7, 2020, Brad Gething, PhD,
NWPCA, along with Bill Koffel,
President of Koffel Associates, presented a
webinar on "Outdoor Storage of Wooden
Pallets: Ongoing Compliance Efforts &
Next Level Information" for manufacturing
and recycling facilities, and the fire code
safety community. The webinar was well
attended, with 160 registrants. The session
focused beyond necessary compliance
and identified specific aspects to focus on,
as well as enforcement experiences that
may help facility managers improve fire
safety. Replay the webinar and access the
presentation slides at palletcentral.com/

NWPCA and CWPCA
Partner for PDS Expansion
T
he CWPCA just signed an exclusive
PDS marketing agreement with
NWPCA, which will expand the PDS
users' network in Canada. CWPCA
also broadens our ability to educate users
about the software's attributes in their
native language, by providing technical
support in French. The agreement provides
a reduced price structure for Canadian
members that lease PDS. Working closely
with Scott Geffros and the CWPCA
Board for these past few years has been
a great pleasure, and this agreement is
a clear, tangible outcome of our closer
collaboration. Our organizations have
many shared goals, and this exclusive
PDS agreement further expands on
our relationship.
NWPCA Fall Plant Tours
Cancelled
T
he Board of Directors has made the
difficult decision to cancel plans for
the 2020 Fall Plant Tours because of the
coronavirus pandemic. The decision to
cancel did not come easily. At the same
time, the conditions and circumstances
brought about by COVID-19 would have
made it nearly impossible to host the event
without endangering the health and safety
of employees at the host facilities and our
attendees.
Staff is evaluating alternate plans
for events or virtual opportunities that
enhance our member engagement
experiences.
NWPCA Welcomes Six New Members
E
arlier this spring, the association launched its 2020 Membership Campaign
reinforcing NWPCA's extensive work surrounding essential workforce
during the COVID-19 crisis, which is benefiting the entire wooden pallet
and container industry. The response continues to be encouraging with six new
members joining as a result of the campaign: Graber Pallet Co. (Montgomery,
AL); Hanowah Corp. (Painted Post, NY); JSC Litnaglis (Plunge, Lithuania);
Klimp Industries (Warrenville, IL); New Supplies Company (Griffith, IN); and
Spot-On Services (Dallas, TX). If you know of any companies who can benefit
from membership, please send referrals to Sr. Director of Business Partnerships,
Mark Barford, at mbarford@palletcentral.com.
