28 PalletCentral • January-February 2021 palletcentral.com ISPM 15 NWPCA engages in a wide range of national and international organizations to ensure that the ISPM 15 program remains strong and that wood packaging is a viable option to facilitate international trade. • Participation in NAPPO expert working groups, IPPC Technical Expert Working Group, IFQRG, and the American Lumber Standards Committee. • Ongoing outreach with USDA APHIS. PalletPAC The NWPCA Political Action Committee (PalletPAC) is a bi-partisan organization. This is important as members of Congress that PalletPAC supported in the past are being tapped to serve in the Biden Administration. For example, Congresswoman Marcia Fudge, if confirmed, will be the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. • PalletPAC raised $36,186 in this election cycle. • Contributed over $30,000 to 14 U.S. Senators and Representatives. NWPCA Membership Today, we are 665 members strong. This year's new member campaign resulted in over 50 new member companies. The Association is only as strong as its members, and we thank you. • Ongoing contact and engagement are staff priorities. • Average retention rate of 90 percent. • Record number of associate members (service providers and suppliers). • Growth in international membership; result of new international cooperative agreements. Even in a year such as this, NWPCA continues to remain strong, representing the interests of the membership and industry to ensure roadblocks are moved aside for the business of wooden pallets and containers. With an eye on the future, leading the way in improvements and enhancements, and offering a forum to discuss the issues, trends, obstacles and successes, NWPCA will remain your dedicated advocate for progress.
