Buchholz won the Allyn Young Teaching Prize at Harvard and holds advanced degrees in economics and law from Cambridge and Harvard. Buchholz has authored numerous critically- acclaimed and best-selling books, and is praised for his examination of economics, business and entrepreneurship in the context of global society. e Wall Street Journal named his 2016 book, e Price of Prosperity: Why Rich Nations Fail and How to Renew em, one of eight "must-reads" for the summer of 2016, offering a positive understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing today's markets. Homero Escandón has over 24 years' experience in operations and supply chain roles across multiple industries. He is currently Vice President of Manufacturing (Opex & Supply Chain) for Biotix, Inc. – a world class manufacturer of laboratory consumables and liquid handling solutions. Escandón is a Lead Lean instructor at Biotix. He is also a Master APICS Instructor, teaches extended learning programs at CSU San Marcos, and supply chain courses at University of Arizona Global Campus. He is on the advisory board for the National University BA in Management; and the UCSD Extension specialized certificate in Supply Management. He is also currently President of ASCM San Diego Chapter. Prior to Biotix, Escandón held positions at Northrop Grumman, LISI Aerospace, and United Technologies Corporation. He also spent 11 years active duty in the United States Marine Corps, including two deployments to Iraq in support of the global war on terrorism. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership and a Master of Business Administration and has achieved eight certifications in supply chain and leadership management. Adele L. Abrams, Esq., CMSP is an attorney, safety professional and trainer who is president of the Law Office of Adele L. Abrams P.C. in Beltsville, MD, Charleston, WV, and Denver, CO, a multi-attorney firm focusing on safety, health and employment law nationwide. As a certified mine safety professional, Abrams provides consultation, safety audits and training services to MSHA and OSHA regulated companies. Abrams is a regular columnist for PalletCentral magazine and numerous other publications on legal, employment, mine and occupational safety/ health issues. She is also co-author of several books related to mining, construction, employment law, and occupational safety and health. Abrams is a member of the Maryland, DC and Pennsylvania Bars, the U.S. District Courts of Maryland, DC and Tennessee, the U.S. Court of Appeals, DC, 3rd and 4th Circuits, and the United States Supreme Court. She is a graduate of the George Washington University's National Law Center, and earned her B.S. in Journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park. Her professional memberships include the American Society of Safety Professionals, National Safety Council, the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association, Associated Builders and Contractors, the Industrial Minerals Association-North America, and the American Bar Association. In 2017, she received the NSC's Distinguished Service to Safety Award. Joel Makower is chairman and co-founder of GreenBiz Group, a media and events company focusing at the intersection of business and the clean economy. e Associated Press has called Makower "the guru of green business practices." For more than 30 years, Makower has been a well- respected voice on business, the environment, and the bottom line. Among his many duties at GreenBiz, he hosts the annual GreenBiz forums and is lead author of the annual State of Green Business report. In 2012, Makower was awarded the Hutchens Medal by the American Society for Quality, which cited "his ability to tell compelling stories that both inform and inspire business leaders toward profitable action." In 2014, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the International Society of Sustainability Professionals. A former nationally syndicated columnist, Makower is author or co-author of more than a dozen books, including e New Grand Strategy. Previous books include Strategies for the Green Economy, Beyond the Bottom Line: Putting Social Responsibility to Work for Your Business and the World, e E-Factor: e Bottom- Line Approach to Environmentally Responsible Business, and e Green Consumer.
