18 PalletCentral • May-June 2022 palletcentral.com always had an open-door policy where there is no judgment if someone seeks guidance. Shawn also provides his cell phone for counseling outside of the workplace. We have initiated different programs over the years that specifically help our employees, such as bringing in bankers to assist with bank accounts and/or credit assistance. We have taken our employee Anibal – one of our team leaders – into rehab centers to help motivate others with his success story. We have also translated our hiring paperwork into Spanish and did a ground roots campaign in our Hispanic communities. But none have been as successful as the Corporate Chaplains of America program. Shawn is in our facility every ursday; he is at the hospitals with our staff and family when he is needed, which especially was meaningful during COVID; and he participates in our employee appreciation and recognition lunches. Our employees are also amazing at giving back to their communities. As well as supporting Soles for Jesus, they serve the community in Angel's Place, mission trips, youth-driven charities, local youth sports, and our local police and emergency responders. We normally share events on our social media and flyers in the break room, and it helps that our leadership participates which motivates others. Pallet Service Corporation – Connecting One by One Submitted by Nick Wenner, President P allet Service Cor- poration is a pallet manufacturer/recycler, pallet cut stock producer and dimension lumber sales company with two locations in Minnesota and one in West- ern Wisconsin. We have about 180 employees. My brother, Luke and I are second-generation oper- ators in our business after our parents Bob and Carol who bought the company in the early 90s.
