FEFPEB Opens Registration for 70th Congress
T
he FEFPEB congress will be held September 28-30 in Firenze, Italy. FEFPEB is the
European Federation of Wooden Pallet and Packaging Manufacturers, established in
1946. e theme of the congress is "Wooden Pallets and Packaging in the Centre of the
Sustainable Economy," and it is hosted by Assoimballaggi, the Italian national association of
wooden pallet and packaging manufacturers.

NWPCA Call for Board Nominations is Open
T
he call for nominations for the 2023 Board of Directors election is now open. All members
are eligible to submit a nomination or to nominate themselves. is year, five industry
Board member seats are available for election/re-election. e Nominating Committee
will review all nominations received by Monday, October 31, 2022, to determine the slate
of candidates presented to the industry membership for a vote later this year. Submit your
nominee by COB Monday, October 31 at www.palletcentral.com/page/board-nomination.
Houston Plant Visits
N
WPCA staff Brent McClendon, Brad Gething, and Jason Ortega spent several
days in Houston. eir trip included visiting a large petrochemical company to
discuss sustainability issues regarding wood pallets and the supply chain. A meeting
with leading procurement and sustainability team members and the staff was valuable.
e feedback on the EPD, industry recycling success, and overall environmental
positioning will help the association refine our members' tools to work on these issues
with their customers.
Staff also spent time touring members' facilities. ey visited Jeff Krug at Neopal, and
Rob Trexler at Pasadena Skid & Pallet. Both hosts generously spent time showing their
operations and sharing insights. In addition, they had the unique opportunity to join
American Lumber Standard Committee (ALSC) representatives during a workshop
at Cottondale Wood Products,
hosted by Larry and Hinton
Howell. e visit allows staff to
build on existing relationships
with ALSC while seeing firsthand
their top concerns within a plant.
