Release of NAPPO Science and Technology document on contaminating pests – Dr. Gething was a part of the working group that developed the document to help better understand what these organisms are and how they differ from wood- boring pests. It helps to alleviate confusion with governments and pallet users, and helps protect market access for the industry. Educational Outreach – Dr. Gething presented a webinar with the North American Invasive Species Management Association (NAISMA) on solid wood packaging and the effectiveness of ISPM 15. Over 200 people participated in the event. "Uniform Standard for Wood Pallets" Review e voluntary standard for wood pallets is a guideline for best industry practices and operating conditions. Staff is updating this document with oversight and recommendations of the NWPCA Standards Committee.
