Recently Knotty Pallet was asked to participate in a sustainability evaluation, which allows access to training on improving how we engage and service our customers in sustainability initiatives. In the process, we learned that we need to improve the measurement of how our company, customers, and supply chain sustainability programs are impactful. Recording these initiatives can allow for innovative programs to be implemented that gain better results. e certification received offers training for the company's sustainability initiatives and encouraged improvements in all areas of corporate social responsibility. Sustainability involves more than waste management, it includes ethics and diversity, and our team is improving in these areas. Our team evaluates the entire manufacturing process through our supply chain, coordination down to the customer to locate for implementing recycling options or waste management solutions. Knotty Pallet continues to work with our supply chain to create new products out of the waste, further diverting what goes to landfills. Our future goals regarding sustainability are to implement measurements of our initiatives, keep records to find better solutions, and improve our results. Within our operations, we collect sawdust for animal bedding used at local farms, grind scrap lumber into landscape mulch for local distributors, and work with corrugated, plastic, and other pallet recyclers to eliminate any landfill material. When our sales team visits our customer's facilities, we use the opportunity to review their recycling programs and offer any services they might not expect a pallet manufacturer to provide. rough
