8 Pallet C e nt ral • Janu a r y -Fe b r u a r y 2 0 24 A s I end my term as Chair of NWPCA, I reflect on the incredible achievements and the collective effort that has brought our association to where we are today. It is with great pleasure and gratitude that I share our accomplishments and the path that lies ahead. Impact of the Fly-In And Advocacy Efforts: Amplifying Our Voices One of the highlights of this year was our Fly-In event. I remember going to my first Fly-In as a teenager with my dad many years ago and was blown away this year at how this program has evolved. e Fly-In demonstrated the strength of our collective voice and showcased our members' dedication to engaging with elected officials on issues that matter to our industry. We successfully positioned ourselves in front of key decision makers, strengthening relationships and ensuring that our concerns are heard at the highest levels. rough the work of NWPCA's PalletPAC, led by Jason Learn More About PalletPAC Ortega (VP of Public Affairs), it was amazing to see that lawmakers know Jason and our organization by name. is level of personal connection just doesn't happen without funding from our PAC which is financially supported by our members. I want to personally thank all those who have contributed and encourage those who haven't to start! Interpal Global Conference: Pioneering Global Thought Leadership e October Interpal Conference in Montreal, Quebec, was another pivotal moment for us. We cohosted with the Canadian Wood Pallet and Container Association, reinforcing our standing as industry leaders and highlighting our commitment to aligning with our strategic plan: recognition as the global thought leader in the wood packaging industry. ere were nearly 500 attendees from 18 countries, including Brazil, China, Malaysia, Mexico, and the United Kingdom! rough events like Interpal and leadership in the Global Wood Packaging Forum, we create relationships through rhythms of engagement with global thought leaders allowing us to drive positive change and foster collaboration beyond borders. A Heartfelt Thank You for an Exceptional Year As my year as Board Chair comes to a close, I'm humbled, inspired, and grateful. It has been a tremendous honor to serve alongside such a passionate and dedicated group of individuals and an amazing staff. I am confident that the momentum we have built will carry us forward, and I extend my heartfelt thanks to the entire membership for making this year exceptional. On behalf of our Board and staff, we wish you all a happy and prosperous 2024 and look forward to the exciting opportunities that await us in the year ahead. I hope to see everyone at our 2024 Annual Leadership Conference, March 20–22, in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, and expect another record turnout. Warm regards, Nick Wenner, Pallet Service Corp.
