8 Pallet C e nt ral May -Ju ne 2 0 24 I am honored to serve as the 2024– 2025 NWPCA Board Chair. My journey in this industry has been shaped by our team's dedication, our partners' support, the collaborative efforts of industry leaders like yourselves, and more importantly, my family. My wife, Helen, and daughter, Avery, have supported me through all the ups and downs over the past 27 years. My company, Atlanta Pallets & Services, manufactures both new and recycled pallets and has been an important part of the pallet manufacturing sector for 27 years. Alongside my partner, Si Sitterson, and our dedicated employees, we have navigated challenges and embraced opportunities that have shaped our industry's landscape. I have had the privilege of serving on the NWPCA Board of Directors for over eight years, gaining insights into our members' diverse challenges. As former Recyclers Council Chair, I've seen many changes in manufacturing technologies that are evolving rapidly. As we look to the future, we must address pressing issues such as economic uncertainties and regulatory complexities in domestic and international markets. One key aspect of our advocacy efforts is the PalletPAC. is critical fund supports our engagement with policymakers in Washington, DC, ensuring that our industry's voice is heard on critical issues. I urge more members to contribute to the PAC, as every donation, regardless of size, makes a difference. Be sure to attend our Washington Fly-In, June 12–13 in Washington, DC, and you'll see firsthand what an impact we can make. Eight years ago, NWPCA adopted a strategic plan that prioritized the organization to "achieve and sustain worldwide acceptance as the thought and information leader on wood packaging in unit-load solutions." We have achieved that and plan to chart a course for the next decade. In April, the NWPCA Executive Committee will met to review new priorities and opportunities for the industry. I am excited about what lies ahead for this industry. By working together, sharing knowledge, and embracing innovation, we can overcome challenges and build a sustainable future for the wood packaging sector.
