Among those were several that focused on unraveling the Biden Administration's energy and environmental policy, reorienting regulators on domestic energy resources, and overhauling immigration enforcement in the United States. Chief among those executive orders focused on the Environmental Protection Agency ("EPA") was Unleashing A merican Energ y (the "Executive Order"). is directive instructs EPA and other federal agencies to review all existing regulations "that impose an undue burden on the identification, development, or use of domestic energy resources – with particular attention to oil, natural gas, coal, hydropower, biof uels, critical mineral, and nuclear energ y resources." e Executive Order also requires agencies to devise plans aimed at suspending, revising, or rescinding unduly burdensome agency actions in coordination with the Office of Management and Budget ("OMB") and the National Economic Council ("NEC"). Agencies must submit such plans and initiate their implementation by February 19, 2025. We' ll watch what ends up in the EPA's crosshairs.
