Commi ees, Councils, And Mingles: Finding Their Niche, Making An Impact B eyond the main stage, several specific councils took place throughout the week. Receptions and programs were held for the Hispanic Council, Future Leaders of America, the Capítulo (NWPCA Mexico Chapter), and the Women in the Pallet Business Council breakfast program. Each of these events fosters leaders in the industry, promoting mentorship and professional development while allowing time to discuss issues relevant to the wood packaging industry. NWPCA's strength lies in its members, and this year's interactive sessions on Friday, March 28, at ALC encouraged active participation in the association's key initiatives. Whether focusing on advocacy, sustainability, recycling, marketing, or industry growth, members heard from various committees in key areas. Government Affairs Committee hosted a special presentation, "Understanding Washington: An insider conversation on the latest in Washington," from Noe Garcia III and Jose Mallea from Forward Global, moderated by Jason Ortega, Vice President of Public Affairs. e panel discussed policy decisions and their impact on business beyond US borders. e Recyclers Council's presentation, "Tackling Residuals: Identifying viable markets for pallet residuals," included expert panelists Jess Bonsall (48forty Solutions), Tom Miles (T.R. Miles Technical Consultants), Heather Ross (Atlas Pallet Corporation), Maxwell Ross (Atlas Pallet Corporation), and moderator Don Shandy (Crowe & Dunleavy). e Industry Marketing Committee, led by Lindsey Snowden of Pallet Logistics of America, presented "Marketing Uncorked: Leveraging Innovation to Advance the Industry," in which she connected the work of all the committees and how they interact with industry marketing. As the conference concluded, attendees left Napa energized and equipped with new ideas, valuable connections, and a forward-thinking vision for the future of the wooden pallet industry. With an industry committed to innovation and collaboration, the momentum from this year's conference will undoubtedly shape the path ahead.
