But when U.S. Representative Andrea Salinas visited the 48forty Solutions facility in Salem, Oregon, during a recent congressional recess, it was clear she understands those connections deeply—and she's committed to strengthening them. Representative Salinas, who serves Oregon's Sixth Congressional District, is no stranger to the wood packaging industry. In fact, she's quickly earned a reputation as a true champion of the sector. Her visit to 48forty Solutions marks yet another step in her growing relationship with the industry and the National Wooden Pallet & Container Association (NWPCA). A three-time attendee of the NWPCA's annual Congressional Fly-In receptions in Washington, Salinas brings an active and engaged voice to the table—one that listens and acts. A Rooted Commitment To Service Andrea Salinas's story is deeply rooted in the American dream. e proud daughter of a Mexican immigrant, she's a first- generation American and the first in her family to graduate from a four-year college. She brings that lived experience into her role as a public servant, guided by a desire to create economic opportunity and equity for every Oregonian. "I ran for Congress to make sure all Oregonians have the opportunity to build a better life for themselves and their families," said Salinas. "I know what it's like to work hard and still struggle to make ends meet." at working-class grit and dedication are evident in her policy priorities. Since being elected to Congress in 2022, she has quickly become a vocal advocate for sustainable industry, small business growth, and expanded access to health and mental health services. She currently serves on the House Agriculture Committee and the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee—two key bodies for shaping federal policy related to natural resources, innovation, and business development. She also co-chairs the bipartisan Mental Health Caucus where she has fought to make mental health and addiction treatment more affordable and accessible.
