16 Pallet C e nt ral • S e ptem be r- O ctobe r 2 0 25 PLAY POLICY AT T he National Wooden Pallet & Container Association (NWPCA) hosted its annual Washington Fly-In on June 10–11, 2025, bringing together an energized and committed group of members, industry partners, and association leaders in the nation's capital. is year's event stood out as one of the most impactful to date, with advocacy efforts that resonated deeply across Capitol Hill and delivered measurable wins for the wood packaging industry. From early-morning congressional breakfasts to afternoon receptions and face-to-face meetings, the Fly-In provided a dynamic platform for direct engagement with lawmakers and key decision-makers. With a strong focus on tax policy, residuals, and small business support, NWPCA members made their voices heard at the highest levels of government, advancing critical conversations and helping to shape policies that directly affect their businesses. Legisla ve Wins Through Persistent Advocacy Among the most significant outcomes of this year's Fly-In was the passage of key tax code provisions included in a broader tax reform bill. ese measures offer tangible benefits to NWPCA members and other small and mid-sized manufacturers by encouraging capital investment, easing compliance burdens, and reinforcing business continuity. "is win is a testament to the strength of our unified voice," said NWPCA Senior Vice President Jason Ortega. "We've advocated for favorable tax policy for several years, including multiple Congressional Fly-Ins. When we speak together clearly and consistently, Congress listens. e passage of these tax provisions is a real- world result that benefits our members and the broader wood packaging industry."
