For Woodpack Global, that means treating advocacy not as a single event but as a practice. Most companies in our industry are small or mid-sized, often family-owned, so accessing lawmakers takes dedication and ongoing effort. Organizing the Fly-In each year is a vital part of our mission: ensuring that the wood packaging industry is heard and valued at the decision-making table. Each summer, our industry comes together and travels to Capitol Hill for the Washington Fly-In. Members meet face-to-face with the lawmakers who represent their hometowns to discuss the real issues they encounter every day in their businesses. During this year's Fly-In, held on June 2nd and 3rd, participants united with a clear message: we need a stable, legal, and reliable workforce to keep the US supply chain running smoothly. In just two days, our members met with 70 congressional offices and leaders from the US Department of Agriculture and the US Forest Service. We specifically discussed two bipartisan bills that could make a real difference. e Dignity Act (H.R. 4393), introduced by Reps. María Elvira Salazar (R-FL) and Veronica Escobar (D-TX), proposes a seven-year Dignity Program aimed at long-term undocumented workers. ese workers would need to pass background checks, pay $7,000 in restitution, and stay employed and tax-compliant Washington Fly-In AMPLIFYING OUR INDUSTRY'S VOICE ON CAPITOL HILL BY KATE DOHERTY
