Published March 26, 2015 products including liner paper (corrugated), brown bags, newsprint, specialty papers and more. An article from the Boston Globe stated that paper-makers such as Kraft have found new opportunities in an internet-driven world. The firm's mill in Connecticut produces about 250,000 tons of liner paper a year, and the digital world has had a positive effect on the company, explained Jonathan Kraft, president of the Kraft Group, "Packaging-grades (of paper) have not seen the huge drop off that newsprint has seen," according to the Boston Globe article. The ability to adapt to changing markets and find product niches, as well as modernized paper mills and a highly trained workforce, could lead to a more stable environment for the U.S. paper industry, according to industry officials. Those officials also say that despite many challenges in the industry, paper mills can survive as long as they are willing to adapt to market changes. There are a lot of new opportunities, especially in specialty products. Although some of the companies PalletCentral spoke to still consider 48x40 pallet as Seeing the industr y move toward a 48x36 market for paper products would cer tainly lessen the market pressure for 48x40s, according to Mia Allen, vice president at Rose Pallet.
