Every industry, including pallet collar manufacturers, are working towards reducing waste that industry produces. The use of a fully renewable resource is equally important. Products that can be recycled/reused are growing in popularity. Fillers are quickly becoming a thing of the past, and styrofoam peanuts are also an unnecessary commodity, and cannot be recycled. As pallet collars make greater inroads into the packaging industry, customers should expect to invest less in filler products and save more by maximizing space for products on a truck, ship or in warehouses. At Kronus, we were seeing corrugated cardboard boxes as a favored shipping option. Currently, pallet collars and pallets have muscled them out of the top spot because corrugated cardboard options are challenged to stand up to the durability and reusability of pallets enhanced with pallet collars. • Making Life Easier In 2015, our company has seen a rise in efficiency when it comes to movement of goods. Crates and corrugated box options were not as easy to move. The cost-effective features of pallets that have been enhanced with pallet collars has been a real draw to a full range of industries. Less manpower is needed to move pallets with pallet collars. There are fewer damages, losses and injuries, while seeing an increase in efficient movement of goods. Companies that used pallet collars in 2015 have reported higher earnings the first three quarters and while this is largely anecdotal evidence, it is rather compelling. Everyone from warehouse workers to long haul truck drivers report that they feel that using the product makes their job easier. Safe storage, safe transport, ease of loading and unloading are having a positive effect on a wide range of workers.
