Printers are battery powered, wireless and programmed on a desktop or laptop computer. Once programmed, they can be used up to 100 yards away. Customers comment that the printers provide a clearer, more consistent marking. The technology can be programmed with company logos, safety symbols, dates, counters, and various other marks and messages. As with most new processes and technology, there is a learning curve. Generally, after training is complete, customers are very happy with the printers. John Lieber, Profile Technology Inc. All pallet manufactures can be in the custom pallet business. Even large pallet manufacturer's producing high volumes of standardized pallets can run into a curve ball now and then. That curve ball could be a customer's request to provide rounded corners instead of the standard 90° right angle on the four corners of the pallet. All of a sudden you are in the custom pallet business. These types of situations occur more and more as end users use plastic shrink wrap to secure their product to the pallet for transportation, or when the pallet load is being moved by a forklift or pallet jack. If the shrink wrap is torn, especially vulnerable on the corners, product from inside can fall out or be damaged as the torn shrink wrap loosens or the tear gets larger. The radius of the rounded corners can vary based on the customer requirements. Generally, this does not present a problem in the design and manufacture of the cutting tool. The tooling solution can generally be designed as a profile ground brazed carbide corner rounded head or as a profile ground carbide insert tool. The tool can be built to cut one corner at a time, two corners at a time or all four corners all at once. The biggest cost factor is the production decision related to how many corners are needed to be cut at once. This decision will affect the cost of the corner rounder machine and the number of heads required to do the machining. Machinery for corner rounding is readily The technology can be programmed with company logos, safety symbols, dates, counters, and various other marks and messages.
