Combined with indirect effects, the Texas wood container industry contributed $1.2 billion in output and 7,525 jobs. At the same time, California accounted for nearly $508 million in NWPCA-related direct upstream output and supported 3,151 jobs. Combined with indirect effects, California contributed nearly $969 million in output and 5,627 jobs to the wood pallet industry. Pennsylvania accounted for just shy of $482 million in NWPCA- related direct upstream output and supported 3,018 jobs. Combined with indirect effects, Pennsylvania contributed nearly $919 million in output and 5,594 jobs to the wood pallet industry Also tagged as a state of interest, Ohio accounted for nearly $307 million in NWPCA-related direct upstream output which supported 1,890 jobs. Combined with indirect effects, Ohio contributed nearly $566 million in output and 3,536 jobs to the wood pallet industry. And in Oregon, direct NWPCA-related upstream output totaled nearly 112 million and supported 727 jobs. Combined with indirect effects, Oregon contributes nearly $204 million in output and supports 1,304 jobs. "The resurgence of the wooden pallet and container industry serves as a testament to how well the U.S. economy has bounced back after the 2007 collapse," said McClendon. "But there is something of a symbiotic relationship between our industry and the economy. When we have a strong presence in local communities, we're contributing to jobs not just in those areas, but across the nation.
