NWPCA Annual Leadership Conference 2015 M onumental, historic, and phenomenal! Yes, a record-setting event, and this time we broke through with over 500 strong. Amazing weather, great program, and even better friends and family. It was a welcome respite from the very difficult winter we've experienced throughout the rest of the country. There wasn't a snowflake to be found, nor icy steps covered in salt. It was truly desert warmth and sunny blue skies and the common phrase, "This is just spectacular" was heard frequently. We say this often, because it's true: Pallets Move the World™. It's also true that people move the world, the people in pallet production and distribution. Those people, NWPCA members and supporters, came together on the West Coast this year, and they came in record numbers to Tucson, Arizona. There was sizzle and there was steak. Chairman Steve Yelland (J.F. Rohrbaugh Co., Inc.) kicked off the educational sessions in front of a packed ballroom of NWPCA members, exhibitors and industry supporters. Steve recounted his very busy past year as chair: the implementation of the strategic plan; Pallet Design System™ research, development and business plan; expansion of the NWPCA advocacy program and new hire; and marketing and launch of NWPCA's new website and database. Steve's last duty as chair was handing off the gavel to NWPCA 2015-2016 Chair, James "Jim" Schwab (Pallet Logistics of America) who congratulated Steve on his admirable service to NWPCA and its membership. Jim also thanked the previous past chairmen with whom he worked and has learned from each. This year NWPCA invited Steven S. Little as its keynote speaker.
