- 11 - Business Networking & Education Our mission is advanced through a wide variety of educational opportunities and business networking events. The Annual Leadership Conference (ALC), our Congressional Fly-In, Fall Plant Tours, combined with webinars and a regional safety meeting held in between, provided a wide array of opportunities for members to actively engage with one another, while sharing and learning about best practices in the wood packaging industry. Some highlights from the past year include another record attendance at the ALC in Tucson in March, two sold-out webinars discussing the USDA BioPreferred Program, and the highest ever participation in the Congressional Fly-In. Additionally, the Global Wood Packaging Forum met in-person at the ALC and held conference calls with participation from three continents. These are significant accomplishments. The Global Forum will become even more active in preparation for their next in-person meeting at Interpal (an international event held every four years) that will be part of the 2018 Fall Plant Tours in Minneapolis. The Canadian Wood Pallet & Container Association (CWPCA) and the European Federation of Wooden Pallet and Packaging Manufacturers (FEFPEB) will forgo hosting their own annual meetings in 2018 and will instead encourage their members to attend Interpal and NWPCA's Plant Tour Conference.
