At print time, $3,300 was raised, and the campaign continues until year-end. One-hundred percent of funds raised go directly towards the Pallet Foundation, which supports research, education/training, and safety in the wood packaging industry. Learn more about the work of the Foundation at PalletCentral.com. PDS Celebrates 35 Years T he 35th anniversary marks a significant milestone for the Pallet Design System™ (PDS). Join us as we say thank you to the volunteers, our fantastic team of engineers, and NWPCA and the Pallet Foundation for their ongoing support and investments into PDS. One of the great features of PDS is that it is informed by industry and is part of a non-profit organization. As a non-profit, all revenue received from the sector ultimately flows back into the industry as new features. Most recently, new features in PDS include a Unit Load Analysis of corrugated boxes, a full analysis of the CP7 pallet, and expanded ability of designing stringer pallets of up to 18 stringers. Congratulations to all… and Happy Birthday, PDS! NWPCA Launches NAM Health Care N WPCA announced on November 1 that it offers an association health plan to its members, extending affordable health care to small and medium-sized manufacturing companies in approved states. "At NWPCA, we are proud to add this health plan that can help lower costs and increase competitive health coverage for the men and women who work hard crafting the wooden pallets that move our world," said NWPCA President and CEO Brent McClendon. The plan, called NAM Health Care, was developed to meet the unique health care needs of manufacturers. It will offer a portfolio of health benefits options insured by UnitedHealthcare. In states where these plans are available, businesses with 2 to 99 employees will be able to choose from a variety of PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) and HSA (Health Savings Account) health plans. In working with NAM Health Care, our manufacturing members and their employees have greater access to a network of preferred providers. Learn more at PalletCentral.com/health. More details on the health plan, along with a special presentation for U.S.-based pallet manufacturing facilities, is slated for the March ALC in Naples, Florida. 2020 Annual Leadership Conference A t print time, there are 350 people registered for the 2020 Annual Leadership Conference (ALC), March 4-6, in Naples, Florida.
