K atie Sutter, E xcelsior Marking When asked what trends they see, as suppliers to the pallet industry, Katie Sutter, owner of Excelsior Marking noted, "As in most industries, our customers ask for faster, more reliable solutions." In today's world, technology usually provides the answer. Excelsior provides devices to mark pallets; including rubber stamps, branding equipment and stencils. In the marking industry, hand-held, portable ink jet printing is the trend. The printers are lightweight and durable. Designed for industrial use, they mark on most substrates. The marks are more consistent, and the process is more efficient than with traditional methods. Hand-held printing can be a definite upgrade to rubber stamping, stenciling and branding. "We currently see them used in warehousing, packaging and construction. The lumber industry is also beginning to adopt the technology," noted Katie.
