palletcentral.com PalletCentral • November-December 2015 37 expenses. Pallet collars are just one solution presented that adds to the bottom line. So much so that in 2015, many companies have adopted these items as a best practice item for their shipping/storage. Cost savings by making better use of vertical space to ensure that a full load leaves on every truck, ship and rail, and fewer product damages in the process, is worth closer examination. End-users have also been affected positively by the use of pallet collars in 2015. End-users from the local grocery stores to big box retailers have easily incorporated pallet collars into their displays and end caps. They have also found these items keep goods organized and easily reachable for display purposes. The reduced number of manpower hours to construct and deconstruct the collars has also been a big draw for both small and large businesses. Pallet collars are expected to muscle out other options over the next few years as businesses look for more affordable "green" solutions to their packaging needs. The future looks very bright for pallet collar manufacturers. 2015 may have been a stellar year for this handy piece of packaging in many supply chains but the future looks even brighter as more and more companies are making the choice to use this easy to use, reusable cost saver as their primary packaging.
