NWPCA Annual Leadership Conference, Pallet Foundation Auction Set Records Whether its coffee in the hallway, sitting together during the general session, or walking back-and-forth from hotel rooms, the NWPCA Annual Leadership Conference (ALC) provides a phenomenal opportunity for members to benefit from each other's knowledge. As one attendee noted, "my competitor told me about an OSHA issue and to make sure my company was properly categorized. When I went home, sure enough we weren't – this little nugget during a break-out session saved me thousands of dollars." NWPCA meetings have proven year-after-year the benefits of NWPCA membership, and as word gets out about how these events have changed in the past few years, we continue to set new records of participant attendance at both the NWPCA ALC and Fall Plant Tours. This year's NWPCA Annual Leadership Conference held March 2-4 in Orlando, Florida, set a new attendance record with 575 participants, exceeding last year's record by 15%. There were a multitude of new program ideas, thought-provoking speakers and break-out sessions this year. The underlying theme: networking! You could see throughout the conference how members, exhibitors and other attendees gathered at breakfasts, lunches, dinners, golfing, and the auction – networking, networking, and more networking. It is why the event keeps growing year-after-year. High profile speakers like Pat Thomas, Chairman of the American Trucking Association, Chief Investment Strategist, Scott Clemons of Brown Brothers Harriman & Company, and Sr. Vice President Ken Fields from FleishmanHillard, spoke on the challenges and opportunities for industry. The ALC was an information packed two-day event formulated and developed around the needs of members to interact with their colleagues and to be educated on important issues facing the industry. A huge hit at this year's conference were the informal roundtable discussions in the exhibit hall.
