NWPCA's global influence as the
leading wood packaging organization continues to grow, and PDS software gains
recognition as the premier design software program outside of the United States. From
December 5-6, NWPCA held a PDS course in Alexandria, Virginia, with attendees
hailing from Mexico and Ireland, travelling to attend the two-day instructional course.
Registration Opens for NWPCA Annual Leadership Conference
Plans are underway for the 2018 Annual Leadership Conference, March 7-9, 2018 in
Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Online registration opened with early-bird registration ending
December 31st. The conference theme, "Manufacturing in a Time of Mayhem," will
offer many opportunities to network with industry colleagues, in addition to the
educational sessions that will address the concerns facing the manufacturing industry,

On the Road
President and CEO Brent McClendon attended the North American Forest
Partnership (NAFP) forum, "From Communication to Engagement" November 28-29,
in Portland, Oregon as part of his position as a member of the organization's board of
directors.
Patrick Atagi, Vice President of Advocacy and External Affairs, presented at the North
American Plant Protection Organization annual meeting in Merida, Mexico, October
16-20. The theme of the meeting was "Agricultural Trade," and focused on protecting
the agriculture, forestry and natural plant resources of North America from potentially
damaging pests.
Director of Science and Technology Integration, Dr. Brad Gething, served as a panel
member during the Continental Dialogue on Non-Native Forests Insects and Diseases,
November 8-10, in Savannah, Georgia. Dr. Gething shared the role NWPCA plays as a
US-based Association seeking opportunities to engage and better educate the
international community on how to improve compliance with the ISPM 15 program,
and its proven effectiveness when properly followed.
