The event brought the largest attendance by far, with over 600 attendees. The exhibit hall sold out months before the event, and attendance registration skyrocketed before the early-bird deadline, signaling that the industry is thriving and excited about the potential for the future. That positive energy was alive and contagious throughout the three-day conference, March 7-9, in Fort Lauderdale! Chairman Shane Thompson, Westwind Logistics, opened the event before a packed ballroom, thanking the entire industry for a wonderful year, before handing over the reins to incoming Chair, Larry Howell, Cottondale Wood Products. Outgoing board members were thanked for their service and the new board was announced. The complete board list is recognized on page 6. Additionally, leadership provided an update on all the hard work and accomplishments the many committees made over the year. The message was clear to get involved, build relationships and extend your business network. NWPCA President and CEO Brent McClendon shared the forecast for the organization, highlighted the value of partnerships with other organizations, and premiered a new video, "Wood Packaging Supports Healthy Forests and Strong Communities" that highlights the importance wood packaging plays in maintaining healthy forests and communities.
