We give these awards in their work areas so that they can be congratulated by their colleagues. e winners receive a diploma and a bonus fee. We also opened several communication channels with employees, such as a weekly newsletter, including birthdays, new hires, and staff anniversaries. e HR department creates a monthly video with informative and entertaining content that we show in the dining room at their mealtimes. Each month we organize a special event, like Women's Day, Independence Day, etc. During these events, we give them food, decorate the plant, and take photos of the collaborators that we then upload to social media. Finally, we implement a satisfaction survey with new collaborators where we follow up on them during the first three months they are working for us. In this survey, we ask them if they get proper training, how they see the work environment, and if their boss gives them monthly feedback. For the first of many initiatives, we have adopted a hybrid work schedule which allows the ability for a greater work/life balance. Additionally, we have designated the month of November as "Employee Appreciation Month," and implemented Star Awards which are provided to those recognized for their exemplary contributions to the team. Ongweoweh has also created individual and departmental training initiatives as well as a company-wide training program to ensure our team has the KSAs needed to guarantee long term success on and off the clock. In addition to increasing starting wages, we increased the wages of our current employees. With fast food restaurants in our area paying $18 an hour, we had to do something to get qualified applicants. By increasing the wages, we have been able to hire and retain employees and reduce/eliminate Saturday work which was becoming an issue for employees, especially ones with families. We use an intercompany communication system, called "Pronto." It allows the user to select their native language, thus we can communicate much better with all employees.
